2026 Calendar: Gardens of Steadfastness

A winning bet: Perseverance as a collective act

We tried something new with this project – with fewer tourists and the shrinking purchasing power of locals, we turned to our community to help us persevere. It paid off! 2026 Calendar is sold out after its 2nd reprint.

We worked hard, our community put in time and labour, and friends (and new friends) bought and sold the calendar across the world. This piece of Hostel Beirut is now in new cities, homes, and spaces.

People behind the Calendar

The project was initiated by Hostel Beirut workers and members. They made this project a reality!

The Calendar features 12 original artwork by Lebanon-based visual & multidisciplinary artists who volunteered their art and creativity to support us. Artists offered a piece of their imagination and words around the theme of “Gardens of perseverance”.

Friends from Dammeh coop (formerly) supported the concept and design of the Calendar.

Friends of Hostel Beirut shot videos, put up posters across the city, folded hundreds of origami birds, and put together a launch party. You all showed up STRONG for us!

About the calendar & crowdfunding campaign

This calendar helps keep our space open. The past few years have been tough, and instead of relying on big corporations or NGOs, we turned to our community. The Calendar sales helped cover costs for the Hostel and give us a breathing space!
These years have limited our abilities and our capacity to act. Often, it has felt like what we can do is simply persist – remain – despite the constant pressures to eradicate us. In the absence of “power”, we’ve found perseverance.
You’ll find us tending to our many gardens: ourselves, our projects, our friendships, our values, our imagination, our practices… and maybe one day they will stand on their own.
Tend to this garden with us, so that we may persevere.
